The end is near…

Since few years, I have been suffering with chronic throat infection… ENT specialist tried all possible antibiotics to bring the throat infection under control but it did not work… Undergoing tonsillectomy removed both of my tonsils in a hope to cure the infection but it too did not work…

Recently, I have been diagnosed with a frontal and maxillary sinusitis and I have been prescribed with a different antibiotic along with few an anti-allergic medicine. Till now, I haven’t experienced any improvements.

Few months back, I had a sensitive tooth and the dentist found out that it had a calcification in its pulp chamber. So, I had to undergo a root canal treatment. Before the dentist could place a cap on it, the tooth broke in half… While this tooth was undergoing a root canal treatment, the tooth which underwent a root canal treatment last year started giving a hell of a pain. It had to undergo a repeat RCT. And while all this was going on, suddenly, the molar on right started acting up. All these three now have dental caps on them…

Past few weeks, while trying to read the caller ID on my mobile, I realized that my vision was fuzzy. I started noticing that I had difficulties while reading from a book. And yes, now I am diagnosed with a far sightedness problem…
TheBiFocalThank God there are progressive glasses now… Of course, they are EXPENSIVE…

So summarizing all of above, it seems that the end is nearing. Too bad too bad…

Manekchawk – The food street

Few weeks back, Darshan was in India and at one evening he suggested to go Manekchawk- the food street which remains open till late night – early morning. I found the place very interesting even from street photography point of view and wanted to visit it again with my camera.

Last evening, the multimedia gang planned a hang out at that place.

ManekChawkThis food street happens only after working hours. It is actually a parking area for the shops around. The shops close down by 9pm and then within just 3o minutes, these hawkers set up their carts, hang their signs and arrange chairs and tables.

From Pizza, sandwiches to paun bhaji and dalwada, you get almost all varieties of food here.

The Corn Street…

TheRain
Finally, it rained last night and it brought much awaited relief from the heat.

Corn-Street
This afternoon, I spent some time at famous “Makaai Gali” – corn street near Law Garden. It was little early for the street to be very live but I could capture some happenings there…

Corn-Cart
A typical corn seller… The sign says “Fresh Sweet corn – boiled”. Notice the stove and a pot on it? That is to boil the “American” sweet corn. The sign next to the stove says about different varieties of the corn offered by the seller – Spicy Lemon, Spicy Butter, Spicy Cheese, Garlic paste and Green Paste. The corn would be topped with any of these "toppings”…

Hello
These carts are usually operated by a family. A mother on left manages the garbage, a younger son catches the customers and elder one prepares the corn. His wife is behind and pops up for the pose below…

At another cart, mother was waiting for the sell. Look how she has wrapped her sari.

What-A-Stand
And at this cart, the woman is either lost in some thought or watching something happening. Same sari wrapping here too.

LostInThoughtAnd at this cart, the mother was actually blowing the air in the coal furnace to roast the corn. She seems lost in thoughts while working.

Family-CornOuting
A family had come for the corn outing. Look how the kid is laying on the motor cycle. His mother seems to have noticed me. Two friends/colleagues are enjoying the corn as well.

What-A-Scene
The same cart from the other angle. Its so happening there… While a little kido is getting attention from the seller, seller’s wife is preparing some corn. The motorcycle family is seen from this angle as well and notice an old woman begging there…

Lucky-Juice-Cart
Opposite the corn street, this "fresh juice” seller had a visual delight spot for his cart.

What-A-Smile
You receive a spontaneous smile when you point your long white L lens at such beautiful subject!

But who cares about the camera or even driving when your dear one is calling you?
